FOUNDING AND GROWTH

Sol Transportation was founded in 2007 with the intent to deliver more efficient transportation services to meet the needs of seniors, persons with disabilities, and special needs students. Combining over 20 years of industry experience, they started the company with just two vehicles, initially serving in the Los Angeles area. Their services quickly gained traction, leading to steady growth.

In 2008, they expanded their services to San Diego, CA., where they purchased their first wheelchair-accessible van to begin transporting special needs students and offer medical transportation for senior service programs. By 2011, Sol Transportation secured a Federal contract with the Veterans Affairs to provide Special Mode Transportation for disabled Veterans. Additionally, they were awarded multiple contracts with various School Districts to transport special needs students, including both wheelchair and ambulatory services.

In 2016, seeking to expand their offerings, they introduced “Gurney Transportation” for individuals requiring stretcher transport. This new service was made available to the public, using vehicles specially equipped for gurneys.

Today, Sol Transportation’s services continue to expand, maintaining the vision and mission they started with, since inception.
